The Lake Orion Liquid Lightning Swim Team capped off the winter swim season by placing third out of six teams in the Macomb Area Swim League Championships on March 22.
The Liquid Lightning is a “United States Swimming” affiliated age group competitive swim program, that practices at the Lake Orion High School Natatorium. Swimmers of ages 5-18 compete in both dual and invitational swim meets.
The team also had approximately 16 swimmers compete in the recent Michigan State Swimming Championships. Two swimmers placed in the top 10 in the state. Petar Simic placed 10th in the boys 9-10 50-yard butterfly, while Garrett Ruhland placed seventh in the boys 13-14 100-yard freestyle event.
