Hundreds of people walked away from Glitz NXT Salon in Lake Orion looking and feeling great on July 13. That’s because the salon’s annual Cut-A-Thon raised over $10,000 for Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.
One hundred stylists from three Glitz Salons locations set up 30 chairs under a large outdoor tent, cutting hair all day. Patrons were asked to provide a minimum of $15 donation for a haircut.
In addition to haircuts, there were plenty of other activities to keep kids and adults busy for hours. The event featured three bands, refreshments and a raffle featuring prizes ranging from jewelry and hair products to dinners and bowling passes.
Events for kids included a moonwalk, duck pond and face painting.
Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is an independent statewide organization that provides information, financial assistance and emotional support to adults and children affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and related blood disorders.
