Village Council approved a sewer system ordinance and water system ordinance Monday night that changes the process of how council adopts their fees. The new ordinances allow council to set permit fees and charges by resolution after a public hearing at a regular meeting, rather than by ordinance. The first public hearing to discuss an increase in rates is December 14. Fees would be effective January 1. For a family of four using 25,000 gallons of water per quarter, rates will increase to about $44.00 per quarter, with some rates increasing indefinitely.
