Benefit concert for pet shelter

Jason Dunn of Clarkston organized a benefit concert as his Eagle Scout project.
Doors open at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 17, at Clarkston United Methodist Church, 6600 Waldon Road. All donations benefit Oakland County Animal Shelter.
“I chose to help out the animal shelter for my project because I love animals and I wanted to bring attention to their needs,” said Dunn, who has been planning the project since November. “More and more people are dropping off their animals at the shelter because they can no longer care for their animals.”
Set to perform are bands The Loose Tie, of Flint; Mystery Key, Sterling Heights; Chemical Switch, Clarkston; Take a Hint, Clarkston; and Intensiosity, Rochester.
Wish list for donations includes dog food, canned cat food, cat litter and pans, bound carpet samples, pet carriers, pet toys, leashes and collars, food dishes, towels, and blankets.
Dunn’s goal is collecting 200 pounds of dog and cat food.
