Blackhawks top SC Dragons, gear up for playoff run

Swartz Creek — Brandon Blackhawk Damian Watton set the pace with 188 yards of offense and 3 TDs behind stellar offensive-line play en route to a 35-19 win at Swartz Creek on Oct. 18.
The win marked the Blackhawks ninth consecutive trip to the playoffs.
The Blackhawks took a 22-19 lead into the fourth quarter before the defense stiffened and the offensive added 13 points.
“They stuck to the game plan against a physical Swartz Creek offense,” said Head Coach Brad Zube.
“That win put us in,” he said. “I’m really proud of our guys. We played great team football. It was a tight game 14-13 at the half and we really came out and played a great second half of football.”
The Brandon offense tallied 363 yards with 68 in the air and 295 on the ground.
BHS Lance Briolat completed five of 11 passes for two TDs. BHS Damion Watton had 24 carries for 136 yards and one TD; BHS Lance Briolat had 11 carries for 70 yards and Luke Hanson 7 rushes for 67 yards and 1TD. BHS Watton had four receptions for 52 yards and two TDs.
On defense BHS Jacob Morrison 6 tackles and one sack; BHS Nate McChesney 6 tackles 1 sack; BHS Luke Hanson 7 tackles; BHS Demetri McNeir 1 interception and BHS Lance Briolat 1 interception.
