Flint — On Feb. 21, the Brandon High School bowling season came to an end as the teams competed in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Flint Metro League Regionals hosted at Richfield Bowl, 5340 Richfield Road, Flint.
The boys varsity team placed fifth out of 13, and the girls varsity team placed ninth out of 10.
Individually, our of 76, Brenden Sheffield placed 13th, Logan Marion placed 47th, Brady Blehm placed 59th, Jon Drinkwine placed 60th and Gain Cox placed 71st. For the girls, out of 63, Rhylie Clark placed 20th, Nora Waters placed 44th, Sarah Russell placed 51st, Aubrie Philips placed 52nd, and Nele Lueckel placed 53rd.
The tournament also brought several personal best games for the BHS team members. Jon Drinkwine got his personal best with a 209, Brady Blehm had a 252, Brenden Sheffield had a 224, Nele Lueckel had 155, Aubrie Phillips had 146, and Rhylie Clark had 187.
Final standings for the 2024-2025 have Brandon Boys at 85th out of 375 teams and the Brandon Girls finishing at 276th our of 316 teams. Two students also received Flint Metro League Honorable Mentions. Brenden Sheffield ranked 347 out of 2078 individual bowlers in the state, and Rhylie Clark ranked 456 out of 1,745 bowlers in the state.
