Corunna —   On Sept. 13 the Brandon Blackhawks traveled to Corunna for the first Flint Metro League game of the season. The Blackhawks trailed at halftime 35-14 to a Cavaliers team who made a trip to Ford Field and the state championship game last fall.
The Blackhawks tallied 413 yards of offense with 263 yards in the air and 150 yards on the ground.
“Corunna is playing great football right now,” said Brandon Head Coach Brad Zube. “The Cavaliers won 17 of their last 18 games with their only loss coming in the 2023 state finals. We did some good things but had some critical errors that put us in a bad spot early and you just can’t do that against good teams. We are 2-1 after three weeks and are refocusing our efforts on the Lake Fenton game and trying to get to 3-1.”
BHS Quarterback Lance Briolat completed 11 of 21 attempts for 263 yards, two touchdowns with one interception. BHS Jacob Dubiel had 15 carries for 77 yards and one touchdown, BHS Lance Briolat carried the ball six times for 41 yards. BHS Demetri McNeir had five receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown; BHS Luke Hanson two receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown and BHS Danny Protiva two receptions for 87 yards.
On defense BHS Kurt Briolat had 10 tackles; BHS Albert Rowe seven tackles and one sack and Demetri McNeir one interception
