The Clarkston Riverdawgs 9U team stormed the baseball fields in Farmington and brought home a trophy.
They won the South Farmington Blues USSSA Baseball tournament, June 12-13.
The boys defeated four teams along the way and had no losses.
‘The kids played great baseball in a very competive tournament,? said Tim Henley, assistant coach.
The boys held the Lincoln Railsplitters, from Ypsilanti, down to three runs as they scored 11. They had a closer game against Motor City Bulldogs, from Metro Detroit, and won it by two points, 10-8.
They defeated the Birmingham Bulldogs, 17-7.
They faced off against the Oxford Wildcats in the championship round.
‘It was a hard-fought game,? said Henley. ‘It was a pitchers? dual until we broke it open in the last couple innings.?
The ‘Dawgs put the Cats back in their cage with 8-3 win.
The boys have kept the momentum going posting three wins in the last week.
They beat the Orion Chargers, 11-3 and the Stoney Creek Cutters twice on June 20, 18-3 and 10-0.
Their overall record is currently 26-6-1.
