Christmas in Action gears up for April 29 work day

Once again Christmas in Action of Oakland County is gearing up to provide free home repairs to qualified, low-income seniors and handicapped homeowners.
This year’s work day is scheduled for April 29. The last Saturday in April is the traditional day when Christmas in Action does home repairs for qualified low-income seniors and handicapped homeowners.
Last year, the group divided into teams to work on three different homes in Clarkston. Volunteers from the community ? representing church groups, business teams and individual citizens ? came together on the last Saturday in April to make a difference in their community.
‘It is amazing what can be accomplished when a team of volunteers show up at your door on workday,? said one of the 2005 homeowners.
Christmas in Action is a national group that believes in doing home repairs for qualified seniors and handicapped homeowners to insure that they continue to live in a safe and warm home. The group is comprised of skilled and unskilled volunteers who work on the interior or the exterior of the home.
Christmas in Action is currently seeking applicants and volunteers. A representative works with selected homeowners prior to April 29 to create a list of projects to be started and completed on the day.
