CJ’s collecting money for Pontiac family after fire

CJ’s Village Cafe in Lake Orion is collecting funds for the Valiente-Carrasco family of Pontiac, who lost a mother and five children after a fire swept through their Pontiac home on July 29.
CJ’s owner Carl Slomczemski said the sister-in-law of Guillermina Valiente Carrasco, who was killed in the fire with her five children: seven-year-old Grecia, two-year-old Veronica, one-year-old Selena, three-year-old Francisco and three-year-old Edurado; works at CJ’s Cafe.
“The family is quite shaken,” he said. “We’re trying to do what we can for them.”
