The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning has announced multiple Oakland County enforcement zones for the ‘Click it or Ticket? seat belt enforcement program.
Drivers will be stopped at the zones by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and other local police departments during the listed hours on the listed day.
In the Orion Township area, drivers will find an enforcement area operated by the OCSD on Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. at Lapeer and Silverbell Roads. The OCSD will operate another enforcement zone on Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at Lapeer and Atwater.
The Auburn Hills Police Department will operate an enforcement zone with the Michigan State Police on Sept. 10 at Brown Road and M-24 at 7 a.m. The OCSD will operate a zone on Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at Baldwin and I-75.
Failure to wear a seat belt can result in a $65 fine.
