Dallas — On July 11, Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced that the club has issued a qualifying offer to defense man Ben Gleason thus retaining their negotiating rights.
“We are in the negotiating process,” said Gleason.
In August 2021, Gleason, 24 an Ortonville native was issued a one-year, two-way contract.
Gleason was originally undrafted and signed with Dallas as a Free Agent on Sept. 13, 2018.
Gleason, skated in 70 contests and recorded 44 points (9-35=44) during the 2021-22 season for the Texas Stars, Dallas’ top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gleason has appeared in four career NHL contests during the 2018-19 season, registering one assist (0-1=1) with 14:53 ice time per game.
He made his NHL debut on Nov. 10, 2018 against the Nashville Predators, registering his first NHL point (0-1=1) and logging 18:13 TOI.
He has also registered 109 points (20-89=109) in 222 regular-season games over four AHL seasons, all with Texas.
