DDA gearing up for Celebrate Oxford

The Oxford Downtown Development Authority is gearing up for Celebrate Oxford on Saturday, August 6.
A Pancake Breakfast begins a day filled with family fun activities and entertainment. Kids Town will offer carnival games, assorted bounce houses, rock climbing walls, bungee trampoline, ABC Tumblebus along with live singing, dancing and magical acts. The Business Expo will showcase area businesses and the Art & Exhibit Fair will fill the street with a myriad of vendors.
In Centennial Park, favorites from the Concerts in the Park series will entertain visitors all day long with music that includes Swing, Motown, Blues and good ol? Rock ‘n Roll. The Battle of the Bands competition begins at 6:00 p.m. highlighting local high school bands competing for the top prize: playing one of the last Concerts in the Park. And, don’t worry about getting hungry or thirsty as the Taste of Oxford, set up next to the park, will offer delicious specialties from area restaurants along with ice cold beer and pop to enjoy whole listening to the music.
In addition, cruise through the Classic Car Show or the sidewalk sales that will be set up outside the back door of businesses downtown. Take a helicopter ride and get the bird’s eye view of Oxford.
Presale wristbands for Kids Town will be available for $8 each in the DDA office and at Concerts in the Park beginning Thursday, July 7. Price of wristbands at Celebrate Oxford will be $10 each.
