The Lake Orion girls’ soccer team held Stoney Creek, the No. 1 team in the state, scoreless during the first half of girls soccer action last Saturday.
That wasn’t quite good enough as the lady Dragons ultimately fell to the Cougars, 2-0, during Senior Day.
Junior goalie Lauryn Auspitz stopped seven shots in the game.?
Earlier in the week, the Dragons beat Rochester, 2-0, behind goals from senior Hannah Cady and sophomore Paige Goodman, plus a number of key saves by Auspitz.?
Lake Orion then tied Berkley, 0-0,’on Thursday.?
With one game left in the regular season, the Dragons record stands at 10-3-7 (5-2-5 OAA White).?
Lake Orion plays Fenton at home’this Thursday’in non-league action before starting the district playoffs next week.
They will once again face Stoney Creek.??
