Grapplers finished the Oakland County/Macomb County Duals winning two matches out of their five.
The boys had won the two matches before facing L’Anse Creuse on the mat.
Ty Foltz (135) started the team off with a pin and Kyle Broughton (140) followed suit by winning his match 6-0.
Matt Deitz (145) took his opponent down for a pin with only 40 seconds left to go in the first period.
L’Anse Creuse caught up to the boys by the time Zak Roberson (112) arrived on the mat to take down his opponent, adding the third pin.
Clarkston lost a few rounds on the account of voids and finished their third match, 40-30.
As of January 27, the Wolves have five wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in Division 1. Deitz holds second place in 140-pound weight class; Roberson, fourth in 112-pound; Evan King, eighth in 160-pound, and Matt Vandermeer (171) and Jeff Sloney (125), hold steady in ninth.
The boys finish the regular season this week as they head to Hazel Park for a Dual Meet, taking on the host and Rochester Adams on Wednesday. They compete in the OAA League Meet this Saturday.
They begin Districts next week, beginning on Wednesday. They head to Lake Orion for the team match.
