The Orion Township Fire Department was granted authorization to replace a 14-year-old Base Station Radio currently being used by dispatch.
The township board granted Fire Chief Jeff Key’s request, at a cost of $6,659.
In addition, the board approved the chief’s request to offer full-time fire fighter positions to Anton Roths and Jeffrey Williams. The positions have been funded in both the 2007 and 2008 Fire Operating Budget.
