Oxford Township Trustee Pat Fitchena has been appointed the interim director of the North Oakland Transportation Authority for 90 days.
NOTA provides free transportation to senior citizen, mentally and physically disabled persons and welfare-to-work recipients living in Oxford, Addison and Orion townships.
NOTA’s former director, Dan Shriner, recently resigned to pursue another career opportunity.
“I’ve enjoyed working with the officials from Oxford and Addison,” Shriner said. “They were always helpful and cooperative. I want to thank them for their kindness.”
Fitchena, who’s served on the transportation authority board since 1997, will serve as director on a part-time basis and receive pay. As a result, she has resigned from the NOTA board.
