Dawn Jacobs, owner of Artichoke Interiors, is teaming up with Belleza Salon, Karen’s Advanced Floors, and Tropical Smoothie on Thursday, Dec. 10, 5-9 p.m., to raise money for New Hope Bible Church’s Pastor Gary Boussie, who’s wife currently lays in the hospital in critical condition.
Boussie’s wife, Christine, 61, had a stroke and a heart attack, about 6 a.m., Thanksgiving. After 30 minutes, medics were able to resuscitate her; however, she has been in a coma and registers no brain activity.
‘She won’t go home,? Boussie said. ‘We took life support off of her a week ago Sunday and she’s still hanging around.?
Jacobs said Christine bought and sold designer handbags and shoes on eBay, which is what they’ll be selling as part of their fundraiser Thursday night.
‘We’re just selling her stuff for her and her family and also Artichoke Interiors, Bellezza salon, Karen’s Advanced Floors are all donating a certain amount of money or percentages toward the family that night,? she said. ‘Tropical Smoothie is doing a 15 percent fundraiser there at the same time.?
Jacobs said they will be selling Coach designer handbags as well as other designer names for 50 percent off, which she says ‘is cheaper than on eBay.?
The fundraiser will be held at Artichoke Designs, 6465 Dixie Highway
Gary said he appreciated the help.
‘I’ve never seen her have an enemy in her life and she was just a good gal, full of energy and full of life,? he said speaking of his wife. ‘It’s a shock, it’s unbelievable, but that’s the hand we’re dealt so we’re going to put our trust in the Lord and keep going forward.?
