Furry friends

It was difficult to tell who was having more fun; the dogs or their masters.
Table for Eight, a social introduction service based in Royal Oak, held its first every Dog Day Afternoon recently at the Orion Oaks Bark Park in Orion.
The event brought together single people and their canine companions for an afternoon of mingling and games including a tidbit toss, tail tizzy, kissing K-9, woof off, master morphin and American dog idol competition. All events took place at the Bark Park, a seven-acre off-leash dog park including canine swimming access.
About 80 people and their dogs attended the Table for Eight event. The cost was $20 for members and $25 for non-members, and a portion of the proceeds benefited the Animal Welfare Society of Southeast Michigan, who was also on hand to provide information on fostering and adopting animals. More information can be found on the society at www.animalwelfaresociety.net.
“Many of our members are animal lovers and we thought the event was a fun and unique way to allow dog lovers to gather and meet,” said Table for Eight President Regina Stocco. More information Table for Eight can be found at www.tableforeight.com.
