Each year the Davisburg Elementary Parent Teacher Connection holds an art and culture festival featuring a different part of the world ? this year they celebrated Australia.
‘It’s very exciting and fun for the students,? said Nancy Humphreys, PTC volunteer.
The students worked on three art projects and attended two assemblies throughout the day. The halls also were decorated with scenes, animals and art from Down Under.
The students also made Aboriginal art and sampled traditional foods. Then, they were treated to a didgeridoo presentation by Harper, an Australian singer/songwriter. Harper demonstrated the instrument and talked about Australia’s indigenous people and their use of the didgeridoo in Aboriginal dance, art, music, and culture.
