Citizens Against Independence Township Waste hosts a Pentagon-Style Bake Sale, 12-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at 7608 Dixie Highway.
Reflecting Pentagon ‘cost plus? style, muffins will be $101 each. Silent Auction items include a A Military Industrial Complex hammer, retail value $5, minimum bid, $1,000; and a Medicare-approved Mucus Collection System, AKA a $1 box of Kleenex tissues.
Proceeds will help cover cost overruns associated with the purchase of the new Independence Township Hall, organizers said. They will also have available petitions for the Recall Supervisor Wagner campaign.
