Grapplers dominate mat

The Wildcat wrestlers continued their winning ways defeating Ortonville Brandon 65-15 and Clio 53-20 Wednesday night.
The victories improved the team’s overall record to 15-2 and a perfect 4-0 in the Flint Metro League.
Winning for the Wildcats against Brandon were Mike Upshur, Nathan Musgrove, Bobby Rhodes, Kyle Brammer, Mike May, Mike Myer, Geoffery Charles, Zach Line, Nick Murray, Adam Duncan, and Aaron Moore.

‘Our schedule gets pretty tough from here on out,? said Coach McDevitt. ‘We have done a nice job so far this year, but our real test will come during the month of February.?
Indeed the schedule will challenge the squad.
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Oxford will take on defending league champion Holly, who is 3-1 in league competition so far.
Holly’s lone loss in the league was at the hands of Linden, also 4-0 in the league whom the Wildcats face the following Wednesday.
‘We face the two best teams in the league in the next two weeks. Hopefully after that we can say we are the best team in the league,? said McDevitt.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, the ‘Cats are at home for a team tournament with some of the best teams from around the state.
New Baltimore Anchor Bay, Flint Powers, Petoskey and New Lothrop are among the competing teams that have been ranked in state polls throughout the season.
The tournament will be at the high school and is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
