Eleven Lake Orion High School students, under the direction of Mrs. Deborah Fristad, participated in an adjudicated audition process and were successfully accepted into the Michigan State Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) Regional Honor Choir. LOHS Regional Honor Choir Participants included: Megan Becker, Molly Burns, Sarah Donetti, Haley Gernert, Nathaniel Lee, Kristen Majewski, Alexandra Newman, Hannah Shaughnessy-Mogill, Alexander Verros, Alexandra Zacharevich and Ryan Zmierski.
This group of talented singers had the opportunity to attend an all day rehearsal and evening performance, along with other Regional Honor Choir participants from across the state, at Anchor Bay High School, in December, 2009.
Singers rehearsed under the direction of the esteemed Mr. Paul Rardin, Associate Professor of Choral Conducting at the University of Michigan. Also at this time, auditions for MSVMA State Honor Choir were held.
Two Lake Orion students will go on to participate at the state level ? an intensive three-day workshop to be held in Grand Rapids, MI this coming weekend, Jan. 22 to 24, and culminating in a concert at the DeVos Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Jan. 24.
State Honor Choir participants are Alexander Verros and Ryan Zmierski.
