Clarkston High School’s National Honor Society hosts a free screening of the documentary film After the Factory, directed by Michigan native Philip Lauri, 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, at Clarkston Junior High School Performing Arts Auditorium, 6595 Middle Lake Road.
The documentary compares Detroit, Mich., with Lodz, Polanad, and how they dealt with post-industrial transition.
‘I want to share this film with my classmates and community to try to improve awareness of the positive and exciting things happening in and around Detroit,? said Harrison Smith, CHS junior and National Honor Society member. ‘As we move through the next five years and make decisions about where to live and work, I want us to consider joining the movement to bring Detroit back, rather than think that there’s nothing here for us.?
The film’s run time is 45 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session with the director.
