Survivors, families, and friends enjoyed fine weather over the weekend for the Clarkston Relay for Life, May 19-20.
Teams lined the track at Clarkston Junior High School, setting up campsites and fund-raising booths offering food, games, crafts, and entertainment in support of the American Cancer Society.
Cancer survivors gathered to kick off the 24-hour event with a balloon release and lap around the track to the cheers of their supporters.
In the evening, their way was lit by hundreds of candle-filled luminaria, each decorated in honor of a cancer survivor or one lost to the disease.
