Clarkston Junior High School performers presented a comical view of an old-fashioned moral with the play ‘Finn McCool and his Fearless Wife.?
The play, March 26-27, was narrated by three sly leprechauns, Shillelagh, Shannon, and Shay, played by Larissa McLetchie, Mackenzie Proper, and Jessica Tucker.
Freshman Caleb Johnson played the lead as Finn McCool, an Irishman who accidently allows his boasting to get bigger than him. He tells such fables as being able to carry nine cornerstones, throwing a cow, and walking a distance with peas in his shoes.
‘It was a great experience but I thought it was fun just because of the people in the play,? said Johnson.
With the help of his crafty wife, Oona, played by freshman Olivia Lohmeier, he is able to ‘perform? all of his feats.
‘The play was really a great experience and was made all the better because our whole cast was really close almost like a second family. It was awesome that we could all get together and do what we really loved day after day,? said Lohmeier.
The played was directed by Mark Magni, drama teacher at Clarkston Junior High. The cast put in three months of hard work to put together a wonderful show filled with genuine Irish brogues and authentic attire.
