Independence Elementary fifth graders in Mr. Klenow’s class and the fourth graders in Mrs. Warner’s class worked in the cold to help the environment, Nov. 22.
They collected almost 11,000 pounds of electronics to be recycled.
“We will be able to have more products,” Nathan Dimmer said, explaining parts of the electronics donated will be used for new products. Erik Rosenkranz added he felt great to help out the environment and recycle.
Dimmer pointed out there is a lot of e-waste just from the last decade because of how quickly new electronic items are made.
“It feels good not to throw them out,” he said.
