Oxford’s varsity girls basketball team suffered a tough 35-33 loss to Rochester Adams in overtime Jan. 14.
‘Oxford’s game plan to slow the game down almost worked to perfection as they battled first place Adams throughout the entire game and into overtime,? explained Team Statistician Brian Murphy.
‘The Wildcats (7-3, 2-3) were down three points with just a few clicks on the clock left in regulation, when leading scorer Samantha Medici (18 points) hit a three-pointer to send the game into overtime
‘However, points, which were at a premium in every quarter, were also difficult to come by in overtime, and Adams eventually put just enough points on the board to win the low-scoring contest.?
