Letter to the Editor: Downtown’s problem is the businesses, not the sidewalks

I will have to agree with Larry Stephens 100 percent on his letter to the editor that the reason downtown Oxford fails is because of the lack of interesting businesses.
I have lived here for over 20 years and have only been in a few of the businesses in town. Mostly, the restaurants and Funky Monkey Toys. Other than that, there is nothing there that I would even be interested in going to. Clothing stores are way over-priced as with many of the other businesses. They need more of something that will bring people here of all ages. There is nothing wrong with our sidewalks. The problem is the need for businesses that will bring people here.
I also agree with Melissa Bock- Williams? letter about the school system taking over three of the buildings.
Not a smart idea.
