The Ruck for Veterans
Dear Editor,
Thank you to Bearss Fitness & Ivy Rehab, owners Joshua Bearss and manager Sean Duffey for sponsoring the Veterans Day Fun Ruck on Nov. 14. And a special thank you to Robini Loughlin for organizing the event.
The Ruck for Veterans walk helped the local VFW Post 582 Ortonville with more than $500 in donations. Due to the coronavirus, this year has been especially tough on what we could and couldn’t do for fundraising—still, our community is great at supporting the VFW with generous donations. New business Bearss Fitness & Ivy Rehab stepped up to help veterans in our VFW Post 582 who use the funds to support 16 local charitable programs along with schools and scouting organizations. To be a member of the VFW, contact Post 582 Commander
Dennis Hoffman (248) 627-1065.
Rip the loops
Dear Editor,
I am hoping you will find a place in your paper to pass on this info.
I recently saw a heartbreaking photo of a duck with a face mask around its neck. I had never considered this threat to wildlife until I saw the photo (available online).
On my dog walks around Bueche’s and the high school I have seen too many to count. I am hoping people will either pick them up and at least RIP THE LOOPS. Even better, also dispose of them. I will also ask the Principal at the High School to please help get the word out, too. Thank you very much.Jackie Dale, Ortonville resident
Thank you
Dear Editor,
It is with sincere gratitude that I say thank you to all the residents that cast their vote this past election day.
We won our election bid, and I am now 1 of 3 new Trustees for the Village of Ortonville. Yes, I said we won “OUR” election bid. I did not do this just for me, I did it for our Beloved Ortonville and her residents. I will work hard for us, I will keep you informed, and I will always look for your input. To those of you that did not vote for me, that is okay. The important act was that you VOTED, and for that I am grateful. Anthony “Tony” Randazzo
