MEAP results breakdown

Results for the latest set of Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP) testing were released from the Michigan Department of Education March 9.
The MEAP unwent several changes this year, including a consolidation for simultaneous testing for grades 4-8 and for the first time and the addition of testing for third grade students
Results for the Fall 2005 MEAP for Clarkston Schools are as follows:

In third grade:
? 67.8 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 29.1 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 44.9 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 50.1 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
? 9.3 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 49.9 percent met Michigan standards in writing.
? 23.2 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 65.4 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.

In forth grade:
? 56.7 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 38.2 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 37.3 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 58.3 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
? 7.1 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 67.3 percent met Michigan standards in writing.
? 16 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 77.9 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.
In fifth grade:
? 51percent exceeded Michigan standards and 38.8 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 44.9 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 50.9 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
? 51.7 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 41 percent met Michigan standards in science.
?6.4 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 74.7 met Michigan standards in writing.
? 22.1 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 70.5 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.

In sixth grade:
? 47.6 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 38.3 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 40.4 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 52.6 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
? 70.5 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 21.9 percent met Michigan standards in social studies.
?11.7 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 75.6 met Michigan standards in writing.
? 24.4 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 67.9 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.
In seventh grade:
? 39.9percent exceeded Michigan standards and 34.5 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 32.6 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 56.8 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
?5.8 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 72.6 met Michigan standards in writing.
? 14.8 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 73.1 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.

In eighth grade:
? 42.8 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 37.6 percent met Michigan standards in math.
? 35.6 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 53.7 percent met Michigan standards in reading.
? 48.7 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 41.8 percent met Michigan standards in science.
?13.3 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 67.1 met Michigan standards in writing.
? 18 percent exceeded Michigan standards and 68.7 percent met Michigan standards in English language arts.
