The Orion Art Center is inviting local artists to be a part of their annual art show and fundraiser, the Holiday Market, now in its 15th year.
The Holiday Market will be showcasing the work of artists and those pieces will be available for purchase. A percentage of each piece of art sold will benefit the Orion Art Center.
The event, which runs from Dec. 3 through Dec. 21, will feature artists specializing in an array of different skills and mediums ranging from pottery, painting, jewelry, photography and more.
‘The Holiday Market represents the core mission of the Orion Art Center, connecting art and our community,? OAC Public Relations Manager Jennifer Kuznia said. ‘What excites us most is to showcase our local artists and all the amazing talents they possess while providing them an opportunity to connect with the community and sell their wonderful creations.?
The Holiday Market will be held in the Diamond Dave’s at the Orion Art Center’s clay studio located at 416 S. Broadway. The grand opening of the Holiday Market is Dec. 3 from 7p.m. to 9p.m. and will be open daily beginning Dec. 4 ? Dec. 20 from noon to 6:30 p.m.
Artist set up is Nov. 29 from 1p.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artists can print and complete the online registration through the OAC’s Facebook page.
In previous years, the market has had between 30 to 50 artists selling their work but there is no limit on how many artists can register. Visitors interested in purchasing the work can do so with cash, credit, or checks.
‘At the Orion Art Center we believe that a strong community is rich in the arts whether you are an artist, art patron or someone who just loves to be around beauty, we have something for you,? Kuznia said. ‘It is important that people engage themselves in art because it reminds us of the power to innovate and create, which is essential to a community. Art is the foundation of imagination and gives people a voice and an outlet. Most importantly, it embraces multiple perspectives.?
