Dr. George Weckman, of Ohio University and organist of Christ Lutheran Church in Athens, Ohio, will play for a chorale version of the evening service of Compline at St. Augustine’s House on August 27 at 7:30 p.m.
The service will feature hymns sung by the congregation interspersed with organ preludes and interludes. The pipe organ at St. Augustine’s, recently built by Fr. James Serrick, S.J., is a beautiful compliment to the monastery’s new chapel with its lively, excellent acoustics. There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.
