Orion Oaks gets a load of Red Oaks

In March students at Orion Oaks Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in the Tree’s for Living program.
‘This program provided our school with over 700 germinating acorns which were planted by all of our students,? principal Ken Nuss said.
The Red Oak trees will be transplanted in approximately three weeks — when the trees grow to about 6 inches.
‘We will be planting a few of the trees around the grounds at Orion Oaks and the children will be taking others home to plant with their families,? Nuss said.
This project is in part of the schoolss Michigan Green School initiative.
