Orion Varsity Cagers split wins

The Lake Orion High girls team opened up the varsity basketball season at home on Sept. 18 against North Farmington, after losing a game to Farmington Hills Harrison earlier in the week.
On Sept. 16, Lake Orion traveled to Farmington Hills, where the varsity team lost to undefeated Harrison 46-22. Jessica Condine led Harrison with 14 points and five steals, while Lake Orion was paced by Katie Campbell with five points, and Lindsey Randazzo and Blaire James, who each had two for the team.
Playing their first game this season at LOHS, the Dragons defeated North Farmington 42-35. Chelsea Richards sank 14 points for the team and had seven steals, while Campbell tossed in 11 points. Randazzo (six points), Lauren LaRocca (five points), James (two points), Cara Slossan (two points) and Heather Jeshum (two points) rounded out the Dragons’ scoring.
Lindsay Lawley had 10 to lead North Farmington.
Lake Orion travels to Waterford Mott on Thursday, and will travel to Troy High School on Sept. 30. The team returns to action at LOHS on Oct. 9 against West Bloomfield.
