Oxford runners win league meet

Oxford’s cross country men’s and women’s team bested Lapeer East in an Oct. 6 league meet.
The Oxford men were led by Germ’n Guerrero in first place, Kenny White in second place, and Adam Richmond in third. The men won again to make them undefeated in league meets. There record is 46-0 for the past eight years.
On the girls side, Heather Nefter led the ladies again. Nefter had an extremely hard race. She took third. For most of the race she was in second place, but in the final 800 meter of the race, she was passed by a Lapeer East runner. However, Nefter’s teammates backed her up by winning the next four places, ensuring a victory for the ladies.
It was a different story for Oxford’s cross country teams Saturday in the Oakland County Invitational.
The men’s and women’s teams did not do as well as expected.
Adam Richmond took 33rd, Germ’n Guerrero took 46th, and right on his tail was Kenny White in 47th place.
For the girls Heather Nefter lead the Wildcats. The boys team took 15th place with 445, while the girls team did not rank.
