A 64-year-old Oxford woman who allegedly drove through a red light was killed in a Sept. 1 crash at the intersection of Market St. and M-24.
Kathleen Brode was eastbound on Market St. in her 2000 VW Beetle when at approximately 2 p.m., she drove into the intersection at M-24 on a red signal and was struck in the driver’s side door by a southbound vehicle, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. The southbound vehicle was a 1985 Oldsmobile (shown right) driven by a 24-year-old Flint man.
Brode was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 p.m. The Flint man was transported to POH Regional Medical Center in Pontiac for treatment of his injuries. He was reported to be in stable condition.
