Clarkston Optimistswill judge and detefrmine local winners.
Top three essays will receive awards from the Clarkston club, and the winning essay will be sent to the district level. District winners earn $2,500 college scholarships, and move on to the international level.
‘Young students today have so many fresh ideas about the world and their future,? said club President Mark Schroeder. ‘As Optimists, it is our goal to encourage them and do what we can to bring out the best in each of them. This gives them a wonderful opportunity to tap into their creativity and pursue a possible scholarship at the same time.?
