State reduces school cuts $16 per pupil

Oxford Schools Assistant Superintendent Ron Franey announced at the Jan. 13 regular school board meeting that the cuts to the district’s foundation grant monies have been reduced from $100 per student to $84. This reduces the district’s deficit from $404,000 to $339,360. “There is another financial meeting at the state level, so we’re hoping the amount will go down by around $5-$10 more,” Franey said. “But you never know, the amounts are always changing, just like our budget.”
