Dear Editor,
I find it interesting how much coverage is given to Wartella and her group of complainers from the condo association. It is clear that they will not be content until they can eliminate the village. This has been their goal since the beginning. They try to make it look like they are concerned about spending, but their only real concern is their own pocketbooks. They don’t want to pay the village tax.
Wartella continues to harp on combining services and reducing the workforce to four days. I don’t know anyone who can survive on 32 hours a week. What kind of workers does she think we will get? If they do combine and reduce workers, I am sure her group will be the first to complain when the snow isn’t removed quickly enough or other services are delayed. It’s time to stop giving so much attention to the whiners.
We just had an election. If the people, other than Wartella and her followers, were dissatisfied with the council they would have voted them out. If they are so concerned about spending money, why do they keep wasting money on recall elections? It’s because their real goal is to get their group of people voted in so they can dissolve the village.
The present council has done what they promised. They reduced taxes up front. It is reality that sooner or later, especially with the economy in its present condition, that at some point taxes may have to go up. The village is beautiful and the present group of leaders and workers do a great job of keeping it that way. I hope people will see through the sham this group puts up and continue to support the village. Final line here is: if these people are so dissatisfied here they should just move somewhere else. Heaven help where they go, because they will be just as disgruntled there as here. You can never please some people.
