The streets of downtown Clarkston will be alive with walkers, bikers, and wheelchair racers in SCAMP’s Walk & Roll ?10, Sunday, May 2.
The annual fundraiser featuring one-mile, two-mile and five-mile routes. It is a major fundraiser for SCAMP, a program that provides a summer camp experience for individuals with special needs.
Prizes will be awarded to contest winners for most unique hat, youngest and oldest walkers, and best decorated bike or wheelchair. Dr. Charles Munk and his staff will be honorary judges for the event.
Clarkston State Banks will offer daffodils for sale for $1 each. Families cal also support the walk by purchasing lawn signs for $25 donations.
SCAMP, based in Independence Township, provides summer camp for individuals with special needs in northern Oakland County and southern Genesee County. Established in 1976, the focus of the five-week program is to build self-esteem and maintain academic achievement through recreational activities and social events.
Pledge sheets are available at SCAMP office, Clarkston Schools Administration Building, 6389 Clarkston Road.
