The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of mail tampering on Judah Road on Aug. 18.
According to an OCSD report, a 72-year-old woman had observed a white female drive into her driveway, get out and open her mailbox and read her mail. The woman said the suspect then got back into her car and left.
The woman had been discovering her mail opened every day since the incident. She was not sure if anything was stolen, but said the mail was opened and put back in the mailbox as if it had been read.
The post office asked the woman to get a police report. She was advised to watch her mailbox after delivery and the OCSD said they would have an extra patrol monitoring the area.
