Wolves ‘Rush? to help the hungry

Time to hit the grocery stores and pack the pantries for the 13th Annual Rush for Food, scheduled for Friday, August 20.
The annual event brings together the entire Clarkston Football Program as the Freshman, JV and Varsity team members go to local neighborhoods and collect non-perishable food for Lighthouse Emergency Services, Clarkston.
Last year the event collected 4,431 pounds of food and aim for over 4,500 pounds this year.
Football players are collecting food from neighborhoods from 6-7 p.m. and at Lighthouse, 6-7:30 p.m.

Lake Waldon Woods, HarborTowne, Bridge Lake Bluffs, BirdLand, Chestnut Hills, Sheringham, Boyne Highlands, Glenwoods, Spring Lake, Wyngate, Oakhurst, Middlelake, Softwaterwoods, Old Pond, Sashabaw Creek Meadows, Sashabaw Ridge, Peacefulvalley, Autumn Shores, and BridgeValley.?
Donations can be dropped off to Lighthouse, 6330 Sashabaw Road, south of I-75, during business hours, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. or 6:30-7:30 p.m. on August 20. Please mark bags Rush for Food/Clarkston Football.
The event is organized by a parent volunteer committee, with support of the CHS football staff.? WrightActionPix and Sports Creations are funding the pre-event dinner for the players. Other support includes Clarkston Athletic Boosters, Clarkston Chiefs and Springfield Township Kroger for donating supplies.
