While losing weight and getting healthy, Curves members and friends also donated 1,500 can and boxes of food for Neighbors for Neighbors.
“I’m very pleased about it, especially with the economy the way it is,” said Carolyn Thiele, owner of Curves of Davisburg. “There’s a greater need for it too.”
The fitness center collected about 400 more items than last year during its annual food drive, through the month of March.
“Everybody really pulled together,” Thiele said. “We collected a great variety of healthy food, a well rounded menu.”
