Clarkston Village Players Youth Theatre is celebrating its 20th consecutive year with the showing of ‘The Big Bad Musical.?
?’The Big Bad Musical? is a musical comedy on fairy tales that the cast has known since they were little,? said Donna Ellis, director of CVP.
In the show, the Big Bad Wolf is being slapped with a class-action lawsuit by the quirky characters of storybooks who want to get even, Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three Little Pigs, and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.
With Sydney Grimm as the commentator on live court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest ? the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Grandmother ? clash in a trial.
Ranging from 10 to 18 years old, the cast has been rehearsing since the first week of June three days a week for two to three hours each rehearsal.
Sean Mueller, CVP’s only graduating senior, plays the Judge and has helped with the production of the show.
Noah Dunsmore plays the Big Bad Wolf. Reilly Kerrigan plays his Wolfette girlfriend.
Rj Harnack plays the Boy Who Cried Wolf whose father, the Shepherd, is played by Zander Boyd.
Liesl Netherland plays Sydney Grimm, a dynamic feminist TV reporter.
Dave Robinson plays the role of the pig with the brick house, with CVP newcomers Lexy Vovillia-Hogue and Taylor Salter as his siblings.
Ian Campbell plays the Woodcutter.
Elizabeth Dunsmore plays Red Riding Hood while Emma Mackela plays Red Riding Hood’s Grandmother.
Avery Baldwin plays Little Miss Muffet.
Alaina Norrito plays the Prosecutor, Fairy Grandmother and Katharine Rottach plays Defense attorney, Evil Stepmother. Norrito and Rottach are newcomers to CVP.
The audience has the job of playing the jury, deciding if the wolf is guilty or innocent at every performance.
Proceeds from the performances go to The Pete Rose Performing Arts Scholarship. The scholarship is handed out to five members who participated in performing arts during high school.
Showings are on July 24, July 25, July 31, and Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. with the Sunday matin’e showing on July 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the theater, 6-7:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
