Brandon Twp. — During the regular meeting on Sept. 12, the Brandon township board of trustees approved two projects at the Brandon Township Community Park at 1414 N. Hadley Road.
The first project is a concrete floor for the pole barn at the park. The pole barn houses equipment to maintain the park, and the park sub-committee determined it was needed. The motion was to spend $8,250 with Wilton Building Company to install the four inch concrete slab with fiber strength mix added. The vote passed 6-1, with trustee Kathy Thurman voting against the motion due to not having three bids.
“We need to disclose to the public that Wilton is our building official,” said Thurman.
The second project is for repairs of the well at the park, which had stopped working in August.
“The well did get struck by lightning like three years ago, so we’ve been working on borrowed time,” said John Hug, parks and recreation director. “So we can be grateful we didn’t have to do it three years ago.”
The project will cost no more than $6664.24, and the work would be done by Mike Lalone well drilling, which installed and maintained the well.
