Atlas Twp. —  On Monday night the township board of trustees approved $6,200 for Wade Trim to design non-signaled, traffic warning devices only, crosswalk on Hegel Road at the entrance to the Atlas County Park, just east of Goodrich High School.
“Having the design work shovel ready so when grant opportunities come available (we can apply),” said Shirley Kautman-Jones, township supervisor. “The project will not be started until next year (2024). This is a major safety issue for the community.”
The 155-acre wooded Atlas County Park, opened in 2018 features wetlands and incorporates an abandoned Detroit Urban Railroad rail bed as well as a section of the Kearsley Creek. The park is open 8a.m-.sunset daily.
