BHS vaulter repeats as state champ

Hamilton — Blackhawk Senior Allison Shelton completed a stellar four years at Brandon High School with back-to-back pole vaulting state championships.
On June 1, Shelton won the state title with a vault of 11-feet nine inches at the Division 2 Michigan High School Athletic Association State Championship at Hamilton High School. She won the state title in 2023, third in 2022 and fifth in 2021. In four years as a Blackhawk, Shelton won 33 of 37 competitions, three of four Flint Metro League Championships, four regional championships and Oakland County Championship three of four years.
Shelton will be attending Oakland University on an athletic and academic scholarship, pursuing a degree in engineering.
