Goodrich Boys Varsity falls in State Quarterfinals to Warren Lincoln

Lake Orion — The Goodrich Boys Varsity Basketball season came to an end on Tuesday night 61-42 to Warren Lincoln High School in the state quarterfinals held at Lake Orion High School.
The Martians had won 12 straight and all but one of those by double digits to finished the season 21-6.
For the Warren Lincoln Abes (22-4) it was their first Regional championship.
“We got beat by the better team,” said Head Coach Gary Barns. “We had a game plan to break their press and we did then hit a few shots early. However, they made 10 of 24 shots. They are legitimate and I could see them winning it all. I’m proud of our kids. They gave it all they had.”
Goodrich trailed Warren 23-18 at the end of the first quarter and 39-26 at halftime.
“We’ve been in the Class B elite eight two years in a row, we play hard and we’ve got some really great athletes that not only play basketball but football and baseball. We walked out with our heads high. This team pulled together despite adversity, they answered the bell and made Goodrich proud.”
The GHS Jr. Landon Williams – paced the scoring with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals; GHS Jr. Parker LePla: 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks; GHS Sr. Carson Raether five points and one assist; GHS Luke Francis four points, one rebound and one assist;
GHS Fr. Jensen LePla three points, three rebounds, four assists and one block.
