Hole in one leads BHS Stamper to top individual finish at D2 Regional

Brighton— On May 29 the Brandon Blackhawks Varsity Boys Golf team finished 12th of 19 teams at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, Regional 11 at Huron Meadows Golf Club in Brighton.
Brandon High School Senior Gaven Stamper leading the way with a score of 71 good for third place individual finish and a qualification for State Championship on June 7 and 8 in East Lansing.
Gaven also aced hole #15 on the way to his top finish. The ace was his second hole in one as a Blackhawk. Stamper aced hole #7 at this same course two years ago. Goodrich Martian Dylan Angelo shot a 73 and also qualified for the State Championships.
Top team finishes included first place Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 287, second Orchard Lake St Mary’s 297 and third Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice 302. Local teams included Fenton fifth place 321, Holly sixth 326, Lake Fenton seventh 321, Goodrich ninth 334, Brandon 12th 341 and Linden 13th 343.
